Mt Shasta Dudes & Daisies is the oldest Square Dance club in Siskiyou County, they have been in existence for over 50 years.
While the history of the club is un clear it is certain that Dudes & Daisies was originally a Folk dance group. As Folk dancing gave
way to the more modern Square Dancing, many of the members at that time made the transition.  Dudes & Daisies still dance in the
same hall as the early Folk dance group danced in. The hall is located in the
Mt. Shasta City park, about one mile north of the city
limits. The city park also has a unique history because it is head waters to the Sacramento River.

Every year for over 40 years the Dudes & Daisies hold their annual Snowman's dance. This dance is held the second Sunday of
February. The tradition of "dancing a tip in the snow" is still a favorite. It is un clear, but to the recollection of members there
has only been one time in the history of the dance that it was canceled due to "to much snow".  Over the past 50 years the club has
had many callers each making their mark on the club and it's history. The current club caller is Dean Black.

Dudes & Daises hold beginner classes every year beginning in September. If you would like more information about the club, their
current dance schedule please visit this web page or contact one of their officers or present caller. Dudes & Daises welcome all
dancers.
